83rd Signal Company "Envelope"

This is an original censored WWII Army Cover (envelope with bicolored border) dated September 23, 1944 and is franked with stamp #UC3 "Air Mail". The envelop was sent by Pvt. Joseph F. McDonald to his mother, Mrs. J. V. McDonald (his fathers name) of 51 Lenox Avenue, Glenbrook (a section of the city of Stamford), Connecticut. Nevertheless the envelope contains nothing. The address the envelope was sent from was APO #83 which was in Orleans, France on this date.

At the time this letter was send, the Signal Company was bivacuated at Chateau La Valliere, preparing to move into Luxembourg.
